The path to graduation can be very exciting and yet a challenging one. You'll want to make sure you are prepared to walk with the rest of your graduating class. The basics for ensuring you graduate on-time and complete all the requirements can be found on city college's website, but there is more to do if you plan to walk with other members of Phi Theta Kappa!
What's the first step?
The first step to graduating on-time and walking with the rest of your graduating class starts with the counseling department. You'll have to have an education plan on file so you can petition to graduate. You should petition to graduate as soon as possible, or by the beginning of your last semester.... not after one week, but before the semester starts! Other basic graduation information is available on the graduation link on the city college website.
What do I have to do for PTK?
There are a few important things that need to be done before you walk with prestige. One of the first things you need to do is take a good look at your GPA. Have you maintained the required GPA for Beta Iota Kappa? Not sure? Double check your unofficial transcript on your "My Portal" account under the "My Classes" tab. We do verify all PTK members have maintained the required GPA (3.25).
